    Information:

Clan Cups / Faction Cups are large events that will help determine the strongest faction on the server. This post outlines most of the information that relates to how the Clan Cup will work and what to expect.

    Event Prerequisites:

Each faction must meet the following requirements before you are allowed to participate in the Clan Cup. Failure to meet any of these requirements will mean you are not allowed to join this event.

Factions that wish to participate must be created before the event begins.

Factions must be PVP status at the time the event starts and remain that way throughout the event.

Factions must have at least 5 members at the time the event starts. If you drop below 5 members during the event you must notify one of the Event Admins and they will decide if your Faction should stay in the event.

Factions must provide the names of 3 (or more) members who will act as Faction Captains during this event. More information on this below.

    Weekly Points:

Each week every faction starts with 6 points that will be used during that week. This is a way to track what faction is eligible to fight and to provide fair punishment for factions who back out of fights. If a faction participates in a fight they are automatically deducted 1 point. If a faction forfeits a match they will lose 3 points. When a faction reaches 0 points they are no longer allowed to fight for the remainder of that week.

Along with the faction points a faction is only allowed to fight the same faction twice each week, but no more than once per day.

    Faction Score:

The Faction Score is the total number of battles that each faction has won. This should not be confused with the weekly points. Each time a faction wins a battle their faction score will increase by 1 point. If you lose a battle your faction score does not change (only your weekly points).

The Faction Score is what determines the winner of the event. At the end of the event the faction with the highest score wins.

    Participation:

This is a major difference in how past Clan Cups have been organized. You will now be expected to follow the rules below in regards to participation:

Factions must have a Faction Admin or Captain online to fight.

Factions are allowed to organize their own fights at anytime. If a faction organizes a fight they must also ensure there will be a Support Admin or Admin to witness the fight.

Factions can be asked to fight by an Clan Cup Admin if they have at least one Faction Captain online and the required number of members for a fight. If your Faction declines to fight you will automatically forfeit that battle and your faction will be deducted 3 points from your weekly points.

Factions may organize a time and date to fight another faction by posting on the forum with both factions agreeing. If a faction fails to show up to the fight then that faction will automatically forfeit and be deducted 3 points. If both factions fail to show up for a fight then both factions will automatically forfeit and be deducted 3 points from your weekly points.

    Weekly Classes:

Each week will focus on a different combat skill during this Clan Cup. You are not allowed to use any items that are not mentioned in the classes. This means if an item is not explicitly mentioned it is not allowed. This includes snowballs, eggs, golden apples, weapons, etc. You must return all items that the faction you are fighting drops. Under no circumstances should you keep any of the items dropped by the other faction.

Each week there is required number of fighters from each faction. There cannot be a fight if the minimum number of players from either faction is not online. A faction battle must have an equal amount of fighters from each faction in order for the battle to take place. That means 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 and not 3 vs 4 or 3 vs 5.

    Faction Captains:

Captains are chosen by the Faction Admin and are required to be online at the time of a battle if the Faction Admin is not online. There are no requirements to be a Faction Captain other than they must be a member of the Faction they are a captain of. In order for a faction to be eligible to fight there must be at least one Captain online if the Faction Admin is not online. They Captain is not required to participate in the battle, but they must be online during the fight to choose who will fight for their faction. Of course, the Captain is also encouraged to fight alongside their faction.

Faction Admins may declare any member as a Captain of their faction. There is no time limit on when a player may be declared a Captain.

    General Rules:
    1. Clan Cup Admins have final say on any disagreements.
    2. You may organize a fight anytime a Support Admin is online and has time to witness the fight.
    3. You may organize a fight with another faction by using the forum as long as both factions agree on a time.
    4. You may use items with any enchantment during the battles.
    5. You may bring extra armor to a fight.
    6. You may use unarmed at any time.
    7. You may use splash or drinkable potions if a potion is allowed for that week.
    8. You may not use any item that is not part of the given week's class.
    9. You may not fight without a Faction Captain or Faction Admin online.
    10. You may not fight unless there is a Support Admin or Admin to watch the fight.
    11. You may not make any other rules in regards to a fight other than those mentioned in this post.
    12. You may not pay/bribe/threaten another Faction to win/lose/deny/accept a fight.
    13. You may not pay/bribe/threaten another player to win/lose/deny/accept a fight.
    14. You may not pay/bribe/threaten another player to leave their Faction.

I like that staff is allowed but what i noticed last clan cup is that since almost all staff are in one faction and well....EVERYONE wants to fight mod's and stuff, they get fights sooo easily. Other factions can almost choose who wins just by not fighting other factions and not giving them the opportunity to get fights in. This was really prevalent in February. I had to beg and beg and beg and even offer other factions up to $100,000 to just do 1 fight win or lose. You can't control who decides to fight and who doesn't i just want to make it known that this is an issue. I already know how hard its going to be for Beyond to get fights :(

I recommend using a swiss tourny matchup generator for the reasons stated above. On a regular basis throughout the month, you hold some sanctioned matches, picking up where you left off if necessary. The one with the highest ranking at the end of the month wins.
